What becomes of Monster Catfish afterwards?

1. I absolutely love monster catfish.

2. What happens to all these monster redtails and such after they outgrow their homes? I mean we are talking about 5 + foot fish here are we not?

Has anyone on this site kept a Amazonian Catfish to maturity? Like small mini-van sized? Or do all these fish end up buried in someones vegetable garden?

Also, can you imagine that catfish were land animals? They'd just go around eating everyone. What's up with that? They are always hungry.

there is a 5+ foot long full grown RTC @ a LFS here, his name is "Buddy" or something F-ing monster.

yeah, we can't really compare wild animals in a perfect feeding environment to what we keep at home. they rarely reach full growth potentials.

with redtails people say the top out around 4'-5' but i would bet that in the wild they can get 6'+
