I've been contemplating getting one of these for a really long time. I think I've settled on the fact I'm getting one just need to know what brand your'd recommend. The UV filter will be on a canister return line and will rotate between my planted tanks and my quarantine tanks down stairs. I'm going to use it for parasite and disease control in addition to algae control. I've been looking at these:

don't know if there is much legitimacy to the claims or even how well built the product is.

I also wanted to ask how long do you guys keep your UV filters, is it hard to get bulbs years down the road, do these products change quickly and become discontinued regularly making service and support down the line difficult? I guess the question I mean to ask is should I buy replacement bulbs up front.

The Coralife Tubo Twist UV has been around for some time. Bulbs and parts are readily available. Not familiar with the other brand.

Check out truaqua I use their uvs cheaper in price but NOT quality work great.

What a find, While they don't produce a high enogh wattage inline UV filter I'm getting one of their submersible solutions to use with a power head in a QT tank thanks!

I like the coralife, got an 18watt going in line with my fluval canister off of my sump. Just packed it full of media and turned the flow as low as possible. Cleared up the water and I would recommend it.
