After closeing down my trigon 360 70 gallon marine set up through riseing costs after 20 years marine keeping. i have fully planted an bogwooded a tetra set up with 300 small tetras, now my dilema is i still use my aqua medic 150 watt 10,000 bulb which is ready for new.I carnt afford to set up a new lighting system , an i have lifted the unit as high as i can because it to powerful an starts air alge. I only run it 4 hours a day, now i was thinking of useing a 150 watt 14,000 bulb as it has a blue tinge to it an should show up the neon tetra,s an cardinal,s. Is this a bad idea an should i stick with the 10,ooo bulb. the 14,000 should bring out the green in the plants aswell. What do you guys think. ps, do you like the common carp on my avatar it put up a cool fight.

10k will be better for plants. Whenever I get hair algae I do 30-50% water changes every 2 or three days and in a week or 2 the hair algae goes away.
