I have setup a new Native tank its a 48x30x18

What 48" bulb would you reccomend? I have no live plants, just looking for the brightest best light to show off my fish....

Also, I have no Glass or Plastic between the water and my Lamp.....What do I do about that?? Is it ok??

5500k-6500k sunlight bulb.

yup..... 6700K is usually more readily available for cheap at places like HD and lowes

i had a coralife 50/50 (48 in) on my 100 gal and it looked really nice. the bulb is kinda expensive so now i am using a aquarium bulb made my philips(from homedepot) and the color is a bit orangish... but i like the way it looks in my tank

I like 6700k to 8000k lights, while 8000k are a little pinkish

I like a 10,000k it has a slightly blueish look. Like sunlight on a summer day.

Are you running a single bulb or 2? If two, one 6700 K and one 10000k makes a nice color spectrum. The 6700 are more yellow, the 10k more blue.
