what bulbs would work best?

Im trying to search for some new bulbs for my 180g. I need them to be t-12 48" bulbs. does anyone have any suggestiond on what bulbs will make the colors pop more on my fish. I got a gatf, 1 jardini, 11 discus and a dat. I like the blueish color in my brothers tank but i cant find any aqua glo t-12 bulbs. im open to any suggestions.

menards has a "sylvania" brand t12 in a 6500k should do you nicely......if not they hav e full spectrum bulb that reaches up to liek 8or 10K.........should be nice, bu ti cannot justify the 13-14 $ price tag when i am happy with teh 4$ 6500k's
 
I love Hagen Powerglo T8 bulbs. they are a lot brighter than the Hagen Aquaglo bulbs.

the Aquaglo are dull and pinkish

the powerglo are bright white with a hint of blue.

T8 bulbs should fit in your T12 ballast, as the ends are the same.

can anyone verify this?

true T12 bulbs are difficult to come by these days.
 
What type of fixture is it? Aquarium fixtures will take T8 or T12, but my T12 shoplight doesn't.
 
yes you can fit t8 bulbs in a t12 fixture but you will have to change ballasts in order for it to work. the t8 is higher efficiency rated.
