What camera should I get?

I'm thinking of getting a camera for taking pictures of my tank.

What should I take notice of when buying?

Also do you have any recommendations?

Anything worth mentioning for less then 4-500 USD?

I'm looking for something that would work well when taking up close pictures of fish.

Smallest inhabitant is Ottos/amano and largest is angelfish.

I have the Canon Eos Rebel T3. Cost $400. Takes great pics of my fish. Good choice if it's your first dslr. Easy to use too.

I would buy a used Nikon D300. You can pick one up for around 400 nowadays.

Nikon D3100, what do you guys think?

Also, what kind of lens do I need to get good shots of a tetra sized fish and up to angelfish size?
