We currently have a 90g tank with 3 ropefish, soon to be 6 (11 inches, 10 in, and 9 in), what are some fish that can be mixed with them? Primitive, or primitive looking fish are preferred.

We were also wondering bichirs would work with them and what types. Would they interact well with each other, not at all, or would it go badly?

I have never had more that one rope fish at a time. Having three must be real neat!

Over the years I have had Rope Fish with Oscars, Convict, Dempseys. Presently I have one (6 inch) in a planted tank, with a green sevrum, 2 angels, 2 loaches, some corries, 2 small rams, 3 large bala sharks. Quite a diversity and I have not noticed any issues except when feeding the Green S. He will take from my hand but misses the food on occasion.

bichirs are a good option.
IMO, pick 6" small upper jaw bichirs like dels, senegals, and pollis. (this is based on pure aesthetics.:) ...trying to even out the look of your fishes since your calabaricuses are thin and the bichirs are fatter.)
