what can Fahaka go with?

Hi guys

I thought of adding some tiny tetras or frontosa into my Fahaka tank to clear its dining mess, is it a good idea? Or what can i add?

Whatever you add will be breakfast, lunch or dinner at some point, unless it is extremely fast. Tetras, and fronts are a very bad idea. I added tetras with my old fahaka, but they were intended to be dithers with a timer.

Agreed--I thought neons would be to small/fast/bothersome to chase & he picked one off at a time. Same thing with tiger barbs. Large, weekly, water changes are the only way to keep up with these messy fish. I'm doing a 75% WC on mine, as I type this.

You might get lucky but don't get too attached to the smaller fish.

I tried with a 7" fahaka. I threw some dovii fry in with him and he never touched any of them. He was just too lazy to bother with the little fish, and the dovii grew fast on frozen shrimp scraps.

I just threw dropped a jag fry in my 1.5" fahaka's tank last week and it's still there. The fahaka show's no interest in it.....yet.

I have a tank full of fish in with my fahaka too--just a few nipped fins--very infrequent. Sometines, you can get that 1%er that will play well with others but he did eat all my small fish. The other 99% are the kind that will bite a pleco 2x it's size in half, before it gets out of the bag!

nothing... eventually like every1 else says it wall kill and eat all.... I've had one before never worked out with anything...
