Hi all, I have finally got my second tank up and running so I have split my two Oscars and Jag up.

The Oscars are in a 72x18x24 with a Fire Eel, Pimpictus Catfish and 5 Silver Dollars and the Jag is in the Rio 400 60x19x24 by himself because he seems to bully everything I put in with him.

He is about 12inches, I tried the Silver Dollars but he creeps up really slow then slams them into the glass so they had to go back into the other tank. Do you think a big plec or Birchir might be ok in there with him? Or maybe some other oddball?

I'd love to hear any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Get that dude a female! Can the tank be divided? Not sure what a Rio is other than river lol you could keep them divided for a while then try to take it out if he shows interest

I've always found plecos to be good with very aggressive cichlids! (as long as it's a big one!)

I don't think this is a good idea in a 5 foot tank. Personally I'd keep the beast alone in there...it's clear he doesn't like company, so why fight it?

IME upping an O's activity level works wonders for decreasing agressive behavior. Try increasing the water current in his tank and add some very fast active fish like (large) bala sharks. Hell give up eventually, then become accustomed to them being there, then it'll be easy to introduce other fish. Important to stop feeding live fish too if you are... get him on a good pellet with lots of fiber...
