I recently sold my Jardini because it was fast outgrowing my tank and my plans for a bigger tank had gone up in smoke

I was wanting to replace him with a good sized cichlid or pair that could live in my tank indefinately. I've had Oscars so id like to try something different. Any suggestions ?

My tank is 4ft*2ft*2ft and currently houses my Senegal bichir and ornate bichir

thanks for any help

Wow! Lots of choices! Might look at Uaru, Synspillum, Chocolate (H. Temporalis)... Maybe P. Polleni. So many choices, so few tanks...

I would suggest not to get a breeding pair. I know you didnt say that but if u do accidentally get a pair I would remove one or the other. I think you could basically get any 12" cichlids but nothing really bigger. Something like jags, green terrors, jacks, geos, sevs. Stuff like that. Oh yea and glad to see you did the responsible thing by selling your jardini. Good Luck

How about a pair of the African Bathybates genus, they range from 9"-17", these pictures are from various photographers but all came from the Cichlid-Forum site.
