I have a 6-7 inch Clown Knife and I was wondering what I could have as a few tankmates for him. I had him since he was an inch big and he is in a 240 gallon tank.
Some of the fish I like are Bowfin, Ornate Bichir, Peacock Bass, Tiger Datinoid, Marbled Catfish. I also like Arowana but are difficult for me to raise (they always die on me) I like TSN but as they grow they become skittish. I plan on this summer setting up a 1000 gallon pond so size is of no importance to me so if you have any other ideas let me know.
What about an Oscar--or does it not grow large enough. Do Clown Knives reach their full potential or is it true that they peak at 2 feet.

Clown Knives are pretty easy going fish in my experience. I have one right now with 3 Pbass and a Silver Arowana. I had cichlids that used to pick on the last Clown Knife I had. All the choices you have should be fine. It depends on the fish's personality.

thanks--what about cichlids is that possible I really want to try--right now I have a dovii, black belt, red devil, trimac, and escondido in my 1000 gallon --and I would like to add the CK

Look in my signature for my tank set-up. Looks almost identical to your requested list. I guess you have real good taste..:headbang2

I have the 2 clown knives with a silver aro, gar and catfish. They seem to be doing fine but want to hide with some of the catfish most of the day. They come out to eat shrimp or nail feeders.

I had my clown with a tiger shovel nose, red tail cat, arowana, freshwater stonefish, pike cichlid, oscars, pbass so they are pretty easy to mix as long as it doesnt fit in their mouth or pick on them because they will fight back and beat up whatever is picking on them. My oscars used to pick on the clown but the clown put them in their place so you should be ok. GL with yours bro.

as long as it's too big to eat and won't bully the knife, go for it.

I have never had a problem with my set up. They didn't like each other in the beginning but no probs since. This is assuming there are multiple areas for them to hide. Oscars like hiding places...Knifes like hiding places. As long as those areas they hide are seperate they will swim together fine since each knows their role.

I have my CK with a Silver Arowana and a couple of Peacock Bass

I had large Oscars and a arowana in a tank w/ CK
