This came with a used tank I bought a while back, don't know what to do with lol all I know is it works when I plug it in and it's a little giant pump. Any suggestion is appreciated.

if you do saltwater you can mix you water and salt in 1 container and get the salinity right before you add it to the tank or RO water if you cn only get/make so much a day.

Looks like the cord insulation is broke/ripped where it goes into the cover. I don't know if I would want to even use that pump in water with the cord that way..Shock Hazzard.. Wire must be brittle from all the years of use.

Looks like there is a fitting with threads where it goes in the rubber grommet??? Maybe you can loosen that and get that cord into the grommet and tighten it up.

Oh and I forget to mention uses for your pump.

If you make an algae scrubber it would make a good pump for that.

If you run a sump and your main pump fails and you can't get a new one or get it fixed right away it would make a temporary fix.

Some guys make a trough with plants in it and pump aquarium water to the trough and back to the tank. Nitrate/Phosphate helper.

On the scary side. If your tank leaks you can put the fish in the bathtub and have a quick circulating pump... lol .. :)

I have the 50 foot Aquon Water changer and start a siphon and lay the nozzle on the toilet to drain.

It does waste a lot of water using it on the sink to siphon the water out.

Using the pump for water change. I don't see why not. Try it. get a fitting for the pump and hook your hose to it and see how it works.
