I have a perch I have had for a year. i have treated it for parasites before and after he seemed ok and was eating well. now shortly after moving him he is lying on his side a lot and when i do get him to move he only bends just behind the gills like he is paralyzed from behind the gills back only swiming with his pectoral fins. any thoughts or has a parasite just finally eat'n away at his nerves???

1. Size of tank? 120 gal.
2. Water parameters
a. Ammonia?
b. Nitrite?
c. Nitrate?
d. pH, KH and GH?
e. Test kit? going to pick up a test kit tomorrow.
3. Temperature? 74.6 f
4. FW (fresh water) or BW (brackish)? fresh.. its a perch
5. How long the aquarium has been set up? one year
6. What fish do you have? How many are in your tank? How big are they? How long have you had them? 5 inch perch 1 year , 10 inch walleye 1 year
7. Were the fish placed under quarantine period (minus the first batch from the point wherein the tank is ready to accommodate the inhabitants)? treated in hospital tank.
8. a. Any live plants? Fake plants? had live plants few left.
b. Sand, gravel, barebottom? sand and gravel
c. Rocks, woods, fancy decors? Any hollow decors? large rock drift wood
9. a. Filtration? marineland C-530
b. Heater? no
10. a. Lighting schedule? What lights are used? 8 hours on 16 off
b. Any sunlight exposure? How long? 12 hours low sun light
11. a. Water change schedule? 30% once a month
b. Volume of water changed? 30%
c. Well water, tap water, RO water? tap
d. Water conditioner used? none anfter cycled
e. Frequency of gravel/sand (if any) vacuumed? once a every couple monthes

How often are they fed? twice a week

he will lay like that on his side then get opright now and then and try to swim around or prop himself up against the glass. like i said earlyer though its like his back half doesnt work.
He looks like he is gonna be a goner. Sorry
Usually when fish lay on their side or back rarely they get back to normal.
