Went to my lfs and this was the only guy who caught my eye since I was looking for a pretty fish that didn't constantly swim near the bottom or stay in the live rock.

(Sorry for the bad quality he's still stressed at keeps hiding so it was hard to catch any shots of him, let alone pics that actually showed how bright his colors really are)

This is Pirate, he's about 9 1/2" and they labelled him as a "Green Parrotfish" in the store but after an hour of research I think he's actually a Bullethead Parrotfish. I couldn't find one credible site with any information about them or that would even tell me their max size.

All I know is that they turn live rock into sand and feed on the Algae that grows on it so any information of them would be great:D

Sorry about the title it was supposed to say "tell" not "yell"

They get really big and aggressive...they are also very tasty. I think they reach over 50lbs...

Maybe not....Scarus tricolor perhaps?? looks like 18-20" max size

are you sure its this species? I've seen pictures of parrotfish that look over 3' feet long but they dont have the same markings and parrotfish are like the cichlids of the sea, theres TONS of different species that very by just a few markings

To me it looks like either a Princess, common, or possibly greensnout parrot. Here is a good link about parrotfish in general. There are also links at the bottom to try to find the one that is. They get big and most die pretty quickly in the aquarium setting. A few stay smaller(like a foot) and are more hardy.

gahhh their all so hard to identify, I'll try to get some tail pics up asap but a description of it is the rim of the tail is turquoise with orange and blue lines alternating on the actual fin

Im hoping it's a Queen Parrotfish because then I can rest easy with it maxing our around 10"

I would presume so to get the algae off it
