What canister is better?

I am a Fluval fan. I don't read much good about the Marineland on here.

I have the 406 and marineland. I like the 406 though the 360 is much bigger. You know from everything I have read they have had each of it's own issues, but I still like the Fluval , it's quality is better.

I have the Japanese version of the marineland and a fluval 405 and I feel that the fluval is definitely a more powerful filter and can run a much higher turnover rate even when I go twice as long between cleaning. My only complaint about it is that the seal for the quick disconnect has worn out(I got the filter used over 2.5yrs ago) and even with replacing all the gaskets and keeping them greased I get that slight drip when the power is turned off. This is easily remedied though by shutting the valve when I manually turn off the power, and have a syphon break drilled on the intake hose so it can't drain out more than a couple of gallons in a catastrophic failure. The marineland is also very well build, but I have cracked all three baskets trying to remove them because of the tight fit, and I think the interior design of the fluval lends to a much better performing filter.

I have two fluval 405's running in my 90 gal. I clean them maybe once every 6 weeks. They do an awesome job. No reason for me to ever use anything else canister but fluval.

You know I'm starting to think that no filter is perfect? Seems they all can have issues whats the old saying the luck of the draw? I have a FX5 that I have covered my issues with but I'll don't hate it. My two 406's are great I like them allot my only issue is it's hard to get the top off when it's sealed for cleaning. I have a C4 HOB that I also love they did a great job with the design it's only issue is the flow id a little lower then the AC and no model that is equal to the 110. They made the mechnical upright and two ply (reminds me of the 05. 06 series.) Much better at catching the small stuff. My Marinelands are Huge filters you can fit a ton of media of just about anything you could want in there (great support). My only issue with thw Marineland is that it sucks air into the head so maybe twice a week I have to purge it by tipping the filter in each direction a bit to get rid of the air. So I've started to call a spade a spade they all have some minor things be it design or mechnical. With Fluval I've been told it's very Important to follow maintainence schedule. I don't like hagen support to much attitude.
