I have an overstocked NW cichlid/pleco/loach 75g that is currently filtered buy a AC500, XP1, and a cascade 600 internal. I would like to switch my AC500 with a canister.
These are my choices from kensfish
Cascade1000 $74
XP2 $89
Fluvaal 105 $90
Marineland C220 $100
C360 $127
Eheim classic 2213 $80
Pro 2224 $88

thanks for any personal exp or help.

If it was me, I would replace the XP1 instead of the AC, and replace it with either an Eheim 2217 or an XP3.

:iagree: Or better yet build yourself a DIY overflow and wet/dry, the extra bio capacity really helps with overstocked tanks.

I would recommend switching the XP1 out for a Eheim 2217. Leave the ac110, as they are really good filters for mechanical.

I like the AC500 but its pretty loud and I cant fill the tank up to the top (landlord/grandfather)
So of the filters listed what would you recommend? Im trying to stay under $100

If you want to just replace the AC110, then I'd say add an eheim 2217 (best bang for your buck). I strongly recommend against doing this though.
