what cat is should i choose

i want to buy my first cat..im deciding what cat should i buy.only one..tiger shovelnose or red tail cat..sugestion?
and what are the difference in those to catfish?
and is the RTC is an eating machine?

RTC eats ALOT!!!!!
not to much knowledge on TSN.
AND yes, a big tank is needed for both.

i have a 300 gallon tank..is it okay for them that size of the tank?

300 should be good for a while but ultimately you will need bigger. I find TSN are more stalk and attack hunters, while RTCs are more free swimming. All of my RTC's where hand tame and very friendly. Some TSNs get friendly but are a bit more skidish of a fish. Best of luck, lots of filtration, and dont overfeed.
