Hello all! I need some catfish advice. I have an oddball/predator tank with arowana, gar, giant gourami, and soon to be peacock bass. I have plans for a very large custom tank in the future. I like the big guys like TSN and RTC but i dont want them because they get so big, its almost like they are the first thing you see in the tank. I dont want that. I just want a good cat that will act as a bottom feeder, look cool, and stay around the 8"-16" range. what do you suggest?

You don't like RTC because they get big and there the first thing you see in the tank? Have you ever seen a full grown Arowana or especially a Giant Gourami in person? Those 2 are going to be bam in your face and the first thing you see first, trust me. Some other good catfish can be channel, black line, gulpers, but in my opinion nothing would beat a TSN or RTC behavioural wise.

I think he doesn't want the catfish to be more noticeable than his other show fish. Vulture catfish are cool.

exactly. they are focal points. i dont want a.....catfish.... to be a focal point of my tank. i just want them to be a nice addition.
Giraffe nose imo. There are diff kinds but I think they max out at 24'' (that would be a really huge one) and are pretty non-aggressive and will clean up like a vacuum. Seem to have cool personalities, many will hand-feed.
that looks like a pretty entertaining fish. and with its generally drab earth tone colors, it wouldn't pop out at you immediately. what do they usually sell for for a small one?
