What causes Fin curl in sharks.

I went to Las Vegas this weekend and was in the shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay and was supervised to see one of their sharks had on fin curled really bad. I was curious what caused this because it is a large tank. I got some pics to show how bad it is. The shark kept swimming in a tight circle in a corner of the tank.

That is very interesting - I was there a few months ago and didn't notice anything like that.

9 times out of 10 it's genetic.

Other causes could be trauma or developmental issues.

It's a very interesting trait to breed for. The whale in blackfish had the same thing .
