The title pretty much sums it up. I'm going to eventually get a larger tank so I can keep rays - multiple types.
The background of the tank will be black.
Would black sand or white sand look better and make the rays "pop" out at the viewer?

my retics were in a 2:1 black/white mix. personally, i liked how the rays looked in there. but everyones different :)

any links to pics w the black/white sand?

mine are on a light coloured sand but the fish are dark, if the fish maybe lihghter in colour a darker would be better but thats only me LOL

Seems like most people here like lighter colored substrate for rays. I personally like black.

Black...IMO boosts and makes the color of the ray stand out more.

what ever sand color you like best....

i have my retic over white. it looks good, i picked up 2 new tanks(perfect rays dimensions) and they are gonna be different.......i am thinking natural sand, and maybe a mix of black and white in the other.

thats a while until i get them stocked and ready
