I just picked up the 150gal and Eheim 2026 from this thread (great seller btw), and I am wondering what combo of filters I shoud use.
Here is what I got:
-Eheim Pro II 2026 - Rated for tanks up to 92 gal./ 172 gph.
-2 Penguin 330's- Rated for tanks up to 70 gal./330 gph (total 660gph).
-wet/dry sump filter - Rated for tank up to 125 gal./ 600 gph Rio water pump.
The previous owner used the 2 Penguins and the Eheim for the tank which just had one Fahaka Puffer.
I am going to do a CA/SA Cichlid tank. What combo of these filters should I use. The Eheim and Sump, Eheim and Penguins, all, etc..
FYI, both Penguins have been modified.
Also, for my wet/dry sump, I do not have an overflow because the 60 gal that it was running on had a drilled bulkhead, surface skimmer built into the tank. I will need to pony up for a HOB overflow, or if you can suggest a good DIY version, Holler. It does not have to be a surface skimmer.
Thanks!
MJ
