i have a 36" 30g tank. i was wondering if i could keep some cichlids. maybe 2 firemouths? any africans, malawi preferably? any suggestions on what and how many is appreciated.

fire mouths are great, as well as convicts.
i have 3 FM, and i love them, with convicts you have to be careful because they are very territorial and can fish allot. FMs are great if you want a fish to grow from very young and develop its colors.

how many convicts can i keep in the tank? and is there 2 types of convicts, it seems to be a blue and a white kind. i like the blue ones but they seem to hard to find over here.

you could brobably keep 4, but not for life. i would get a single breeding pair.
as for the types idk, i have only seen 1 type, they havve white and black stripes.
