I have a bare 30inch tank sitting waiting to go into my room at the moment, and i was wondering what might be a good fish to try and breed?

I've only ever really had things like central and south am cichlids, so I'd like to try something else,
I was thinking along the lines of :

mid sized characins (apollo sharks maybe.. though these are too big, it gives you an idea of what I'd like)

smaller plec/ancistrus species bristlenoses perhaps or something fancier

some kind of oddball?

I've never really actively tried to breed something and it sounds like fun trying, and would be particularly rewarding if I managed to successfully spawn something!

breed L260 plecos or/and L183 ANCISTRUS realy nice fish:) if you wanted cichlids you couldgo for FM, any other tho. species, hrp, sajicas and other fish like that

What are the other dimensions of the tank? because a 2.5ftx1ftx1ft is just 18G. But something like 2.5ftx2ftx2ft is 75G. So the other dimensions are just as important.

2ftx1ftx1.5ft so about 21 uk gallons.. so yeah 18 US gallons.

the queen arabesques were a thought though, we just had some in at the lfs and they look pretty sweet, been trying to slyly determine the sex for days

I never know quite what to think about plecs though there's so many sub-species etc I find it hard to determine what grows to what size etc!

Isnt L183 a scobiancistrus? thought they were gigantic

anyway I've found a fe possibilites at the LFS :

L260
L47 magnum plec (too big i guess?)
Titan plec (again too large probably)
spotted red high finned peckolita (no idea on L code)
few nice chocolate zebra plecs etc

we also have a "medusa plec" again I dont know the L code but im fairly certain its just a slight variant on a bristlenose!
