CAN SOMEONE HELP HE IDENTIFY WHAT THIS IS OR WHAT TREATMENT I CAN USE? IT IS STARTING TO LOOK LIKE HE IS LOOSING SLIME FROM ONE SPOT AND IS SPREADING OUT TO THE REST OF HIS BODY AS YOU CAN SEE ITS ALMOST UP TO HIS TAIL. I HAVE HIM IN A 55 WITH A WHIPTAIL THAT CAME WITH HIM BEIG TREATED WITH MELA AND PIMAFIX

BUMP.... ANYONE

NO ONE?

Are these salt-type specks, but in such a large concentration that parts appear more like a solid mass/"clump" of white? Or is this some type of cottony growth? Or, possibly, a slimy covering over the scales? Please try and describe what's going on here better.

If it is ich, the reason that Pimafix and Melafix didn't have any effect is that they don't cure ich. There's nothing on either bottle that claims to cure ich. If it is ich, I would treat with heat and salt, as described here:

Did the previous owner mention about how long this had been going on?

WELL HE SAID HE HAD BEEN SICK WITH ICK FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS ALREADY. HE HAD BEEN TREATING IT WITH ICK REMEDY FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND NOTHING HELPED THEN THERE WAS A PATCH ON HIS BODY THAT STARTED LOOSING SLIME THEN IT SPREAD OUT TO THE REST OF HIS BODY. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FUNGUS WHEN I GOT HIM BUT THE HEAT/SALT/MELAFIX/PIMAFIX HAS NOT WORKED I ALSO CHECKED MY WATER LEVELS TO SEE IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG BUT IT WAS ALL GOOD

This is not fungal infection. Obviously, the wrong treatments were used. Melafix and Pimafix will do nothing to it. They work better as a preventive treatment, not corrective treatment. This looks like bacterial infection to me. Do you have access to kanamycin or tetracycline? If your pH is on the alkaline side, use the kanamycin otherwise stick to tetracycline which is mor effective in acidic pH.

CAN I BUY THIS LIKE AT PETCO OR PETSMART?

yes you can.over by the treatment section. In tablet form.

OK THANK YOU ILL GO TRY AND LOOK TODAY
