What could work in a 55g

Well I have a 55g and I was thinking of putting some local and semi local fish in. It doesn't need to be permanant if i could release them into a local area for some fishing I live in NY so any releasable fish would work.. BUt what would be good in this tank? From Cats to bass to pike

Really? Yeah i guess so.. I just didn't think it through... and I meant into my pond. But still the same result i presume. But no suggestions?
