How & what decoration tank suitable for my Albino Senegal Bichir in my 230L tank (120cmX45cmX45cm)?

Should I put my tank full of plants or let it look spacious?

If I want to plant such as ferns, etc., should I use sand & certain soil? As I mentioned by LFS, I have to put 5 layered of organic soils, minerals, bacteria, roots, iron & black soil and then sand/rocks on top.

Or is there another way?

I love & want a tank full of plants and bushes look like in the wild.

Need advice please. give me some sample please.

Thanks.

Uum for a Albino Senegal Bichir, it wouldn't go as you've planned, why? Bichirs are naturally clumsy, though endli's and other species of bichirs really likes to uproot plants, good thing for you are senegals won't. But here's a catch, due to their clumsy nature, they often would bump at plants and eventually uproot them unintentionally, specially when it's feeding time. From time to time you might see how it deathrolls, depends if what you feed would be large for it to eat, the side-to-side headbang (I call it that way) and when it's somewhat startled by a sudden light's on, or movements it finds surprising... For Deco, I recommend for something smooth, rough and pointed decors would damage it's slimecoat which leads to skin diseases, and for the substrate, for me I don't use any, way more easier to clean, but you might go for smooth-large-gravel which shouldn't be small enough for the Senegal to eat, or sand, rinse it carefully. BTW, additionally go and research around the net. =) Happy Fish Keeping!

Thanks for your quick replied.

I agree with u that sometimes she moving around the tank like crazy. First time I thought something wrong to my water but actually it is normal for her.

How about the fern or any other plants where you tie up to some wood or rocks?

Does the plants also need organics soils/substrates?

Perhaps, i can put many caves or hole using wood or rocks for hiding.

If I want to find her a partner, Is it ok if I put Gold or silver arowana? or maybe Kelah(Mahseer)? How about Tiger/Vampire fish?

Thanks

Is ok to be planted tank. No moss. They will swim here and there and if there is a pair u will see eggs on the plants.

My 2 albinos like to move from cave to cave. Never really staying for too long in any one spot. Just set up a couple pieces of slate rock an they'll be happy

No aro's for this guy, eventually they will be eaten, the growth spurts on silver or golden aros will be much faster than senegals you see, and albino senegals has a poor gene pool that makes em shorter than usual, they might only go for 10 inchers not the usual 12-16... well as for tied up plants you could just tie it in a driftwood, usually a neat looking plants that is tied up is between lower but elevated to upper portion. (again you should avoid DW that have sharp edges, or any decors that has sharp edges). for moss you could put up some Christmas moss or Java moss but you should wait for it to cling to the decors before you put your fish on the tank cause once the fish surge and hit the plants they will scatter, they will cling for a week or two.

Moved to Polypterus
Sorry & thank you Chicxulub move my thread to the right subjects.
Thanks guys, your answers & ideas much helps. I think I'll put a few woods & stones & build 3 or 4 places like caves. Then, find some plants & tie in some parts of the wood. Maybe I will add soft sand to make some place like hill.

As arowana not be mixed with my bichir, I like to put Mahseer fish for her partner besides 2 or 3 her own species. Is it okay? Probably Vampire tetra or characin. Or maybe african tiger fish.

Thanks
