Evening all,

Was just thinking...:D

And, thought what determines the winner of a group of piranhas or piranhas in the same tank of different species..?

Ex: If you put one rhom in with an elong... What determines who is the winner, and keeps the tank?

Does one bother the other? Do they both bother each other? Do they just nip fins like they would any other fish? Do they go straight for the kill?

Or what? Just wondering what actually determines a winner, especially in a 1 on 1 in a tank..

I know if you have a group, once they smell blood, they are all over it..

one way or another one of them will be gone. not just nip but eaten. It;s hard to tell because if you put rhom in with Elong SAME SIZE.

however I do know that pygo have stronger jaw the Serra species.

Of course they would get killed, but how.. I would never experiment to answer this, but its so interesting.. Like how they would behave and how its different...

How do you know pygo have stonger jaws?

becuase of behavor and attitude of SErra meant to be solo in a tank. they are very terrietorial and mean. even you hav big tank, they will fight some how. EVEN in the wild piranha DO kill and eat they own kind. that;s just the way they all.

Thats crazy stuff.. Such a beautiful fish. I would love to see them in the wild. I was just wondering how they would get it done.. If its quick or slow... I could imagine them fighting quickly, but then I think it may take a few hours or days..
