I'm Over Here Now
so i have two FX5s on my 220g along w/ two emperor 400s. i alternate the cleaning of the FX5s so the one i cleaned today hasn't been opened up in a little over 2 months. so after shutting it off and unhooking it i carried it to the mop sink to drain it through one of the top ports before fully removing the lid. so just as i tip it and get water flowing out pops a jumping and wiggling Angelicus Loach. it has been missing for just about 2 months as well. i just cant believe he survived all this time on the top basket of the filter. just thought i'd share.

haha i,ve found the odd calvus fry in mine for some reason but thats only a week or so at the most, how big is he?

about four inches. at first i couldn't figure out how he got in there. but i remembered that the tube to the strainer came apart. so i figure thats when and how he got there.

Cleaned mine yesterday and found 1 cloneing cray I lost 6 months even though I clean it every month I couldn't find it this Time I cleaned it out and now I have 12 marble crays around 1-2" all the little babies i feef to my big fish. wow they are really self cloning.

Luckily it was an fx5. Most other canisters have the impeller on the top.

True, but with the XP line the water pulls from top down to the bottom and back up through the media all before you get to the impeller. Small sediment compartment at the bottom which I typically find anywhere from 5 to a dozen or so mbuna fry hanging out eating leftover food living in the filter......every time I clean it lol
