i was just wondering what the eat cause im planning on getting some and the web is not helping me so far would any of u be so kind that u could let me no and will frogs escape my tank if i have bamboo sticking out of it

bamboo shrimp will eat pretty much any fish food you can think of. as for the frog, i know pet stores around me feed black worms, super worms, crickets, earthworms and nightcrawlers, however it depends on the type of frog.

Bamboos are filter feeders, they will hang by the current to feed. Its also wise that they be in a tank thats been running for awhile, or else there wont be enough food for them and they starve.

bamboo shrimp just LOOK like bamboo, they don't need it at all. They need strong currents and food for filter-feeding invertebrates.

Your frog will EAT the bamboo shrimp.

Bamboo shrimp needing bamboo is a PetSmart FAIL.

when i had my bamboo shrimp, i had a tiny powerhead to move water and i used hikari fry food for it. my shrimp molted twice for me before i got rid of it. good luck.

no its not a PetSmark FAIL its a maketing option......price bamboo at a higher price and then say the shrimp need it so they go and buy it....

ADFs are fine with bamboo shrimps. ACFs are not.

Bamboo shrimp are filter feeders as mentioned. They prefer a well established tank with good flow. You can supplement them with green water or ground commercial foods. The frog (if ADF) will do well on a varied diet of frozen worms. I fed mine with a turkey baster and alternated between brine shrimp, blood worms, tubifex, and blackworms. ACF's should not be housed with small fish or shrimp as they are more agressive feeders.
