recently my oscar and jack DESTROYED my jewel, the jewel is in a recovery tank, but he doesnt have control of his swimming and wont eat, but he seems to be getting better, but what should i do?
I would just let him be, then trade him off, or give him away. Look around here, there are a ton of different ways to help an injured fish. I'm no fish md otherwise I would give you more info. Good luck.
I would add melafix to the water, it always helps to speed recovery for me and helps ward off infection. I would also keep trying to feed it, but don't just leave the food sitting in the tank to decay.
If after a few days there is no progress you have a tough decision to make. If you think the fish will survive then great. If you don't think it will survive you need to assess the amount of pain the fish is in or will be in as it starts dying (hopefully this doesn't happen). Hate to say it, but you may need to eventually euthanize the fish. Hopefully this doesn't have to become an issue, but if it becomes necessary here is a painless and probably the most humane way to do it: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-most-humane-way-to-euthanize-a-fish.htm
