What do I feed juvi Gar?

I just bought a florida gar (thats what it was sold as anyway, I dont know much about differentiating the species). Anyway the gar is still a baby, he/she is about 3" long.

What should I feed it and how?

+ Is there anything that you can tell me to help me identify it as a florida gar?

picture is the most accurate way we can help you id him.

try feeding him crickets, chopped up market shrimp, worms, krill, and the list could go on and on. i personally would try to avoid live feeders unless you raised them yourself or had them quarentined and gutloaded. what size tank is he in now and what do you plan on putting him in?

24 hours gone by and my baby gators have only eaten 1 neon each ( which I bought after 12 hours of nothing )..They don't show any interest in food..

my florida gar took almost two weeks to finally eat. now he is an eating machine. keep offering them food and eventually they will start eating more. at least they are showing interest. they will be fine.
