What do I have here?

Picked up a new cichlid yesterday. After the giant cory that I went to pick up at the shop was found dead, I needed something to make me happy.

Who is she?

fyi blue on top fin, orange/red anal fin

A peacock juvie, hard to say what it is at this point, grow it out.

rubescen? or am i way off? [it was in an assorted tank and looked like the rubescen juvies my boyfriend had, hoping it's the same, if not any info would be appreciated]

Could be a ruby red, you can see some red next to it's head on the last pic, unless I'm seeing things

yeah, he has some red behind the eyes, a little on his belly and his anal fin is really bright

You will need to wait it out for a little while to see what it is. If it is a female, then you might have a hard time telling what type of female it is. They all look pretty much the same.

i'm assuming female, since my bf has some flavescents and rubescens about the same size and the egg spots on the guys make it quite obvious already.

i'm crossing my fingers for rubescens, so I'm still hoping lol. I guess I'll have to wait it out.
