Can anybody point me in the direction of a pbass care sheet? I would like to setup a tank, but I don't know the first thing about pbass.

so one site says 120 minimum for one pbass and another says 55g is kosher for one pbass?? :nutkick: What would be the min for one pbass for life?

Minimum tank size for a smaller sp. of pbass like a mono should be something like 8x2.5x2 or 7x3x2 for a full grown adult.. Aim for a 8x3x2.5, you could keep a few in there. You should grow out your bass in a smaller tank though.

My idea of an ideal tank for pbass is a long tank so they can swim up and down it.
Filtration should be very big and you want a turnover of 4 times the tank volume per hour.
Decor should be plenty of drift wood and plants if you so choose. Be sure to leave plenty of swimming space.
Water needs to be very clean with a good water change schedule.
Ph between 6-7 is good and temp needs to be 86F.
I think this is pretty much all you need to know to get ready for some cichla.

The sky is the limit and cash to burn is the ticket. I agree with the other guys on Tank size, 96 inches long is pretty much the respected length for adult Cichla. 36 inches wide. In an almost perfect world, a 120 x 48 x 30 would be plenty big for several adult fish.

thanks guys thats what I was looking for. So those setups are for multiples? like small shoal? how are they with conspecifics?
