Ok i made a post like earlier today but i didnt put to much info.

i want to place this in my tank.

what should i do to make it safe to place it with my fishes?

i already boiled it and empty and rinse and all.

the keg is 100% steel.

do i need to use some type of clear coating? or...?

please help

...aren't those pony kegs made out of aluminum and then anodized?

What ever it is,
to make it aquarium safe you'll need to bury it in a clear 2-part epoxy coating made for aquarium use, or one that states that it is safe for potable drinking water...
Good luck with that...;)

NO!
If it were me,
I would coat it like I mentioned in the prior post...

Metal that isn't stainless steel will oxidize under water and leech all kind of nasties into the fishes environment.

That Pony keg was sealed and coated at the factory to hold a beverage on the inside...

You can put it in a tote of water and watch and see what happens over a period of time...I bet it will be all corroded and nasty in no time at all...

Here ya go...read up and then see what you can find locally...it isn't cheap to ship because it is classified as a "Haz-Mat"...

Maybe go see the guys at the local surf shop, somebody who shapes boards will have the stuff on hand...;)
