I have a nextreef mr1 monster and a super reef octopus br-140 media reactors. I'm going to use purigen in one. The other I haven't decided. I was thinking about filling with denitrate. Just curious if there was any other better options. Thanks.

freshwater? activated carbon I suppose. 2 cups every month pending on your tank size.

Be careful when running carbon in suspension, granulated carbon has been attributed to HLLE. The microscopic particles bombard the lateral line and eventually cause erosion. Although more prevalent in marine species i don't see why it wouldnt affect fw.

Thanks. I'll have to decide what to put in them. Well one will have purigen. I know they aren't necessary, especially on a 75 gallon freshwater aquarium, but they look cool. Someday I'm planning to switch it to saltwater, so I'll already have them.

On a 75G I'd just run the Monster. Put Purigen in both sides and call it good. Carbon isn't needed, unless to remove medications, and would be pretty expensive to run since you would constantly be changing it out.

Thanks. I'll probably just fill the other with matrix or something for added bio. I bought the reactors for the 75 just because I like gadgets. Lol. I have a reefkeeper elite net for it as well. I think you have the Neptune aquacontroller on your 75, so you know the desire to have gadgets you don't really need. Lol
