Just bought a ropefish, he doesnt seem to be eating. what do they eat, should I put the food infront of him? or just let him swim up and get it, I dunno thank you guys.

Try frozen bloodworms to get it started eating then introduce a good quality pellet-Anne

bloodworms
tubifex worms
squid
beefheart
shrimp pellets
worm pellets
even pellets for cichlids will work
spirulina sticks

Algae wafers(some eat them some just look at them)-Anne

Frozen bloodworms always does the trick for me.Okay thank you guys sooo much, had him for about a week, havent seen him nimble 1 bit of food lol. Imma go buy some frozen bloodworms.
mine didnt seem to wanna eat anything for along time he had to be finding something but now eats hakari pletes and dif shrimp along with my cichlids
It just might be looking to hunt.
try throwing in some white clouds or if you can find some healthy neons.
mine frome time to time will even eat snails.
but if you don't see it eat, don't panick they perfer to eat at night some tmes.
