Ok, so now i have a delhezi in the freezer...:(

What do i do with it now?? What do you guys do?

I dont want to throw it out...I have seen or heard of people drying them out in the sun...or somehow preserving the carcass...what are my options?

Cheers,
e.:)

midnight left a barracuda skull on an anthill for a couple of weeks, and they cleaned it out very well for him. He then bleached and mounted it.

I dried mine up in the sun. You can also preserve it in formalin or alcohol. Someone on here also boiled the head and took the flesh out to get the skull.

I have a friendly neighborhood opossum that gets most my dead fish.

depends on the fish and how it died. If it died due to old age or due to a temp drop or ph swing. I freeze it and fillet it for my other fish.

if it gets sick or dies due to disease. i will throw it out to the birds.

but depending on which fish it is, i might preserve it.

i would mount it like a trophy fish.

Yeh the ant hill one sounds good, but i live in the city...no ant hills around..lol

The drying out in the sun method seems easiest, but do they smell afterwards?

Hmmm..the boiling one might be an option... any more info on this method?

cheers guys,
