Just splurged and got me-self a pictus :D (and a few future monster pangasius) Just curious what you all feed them. I have some frozen blood worms, sinking catfish pellets, and freeze-dried brine shrimp. Anything else I should be feeding>?

Oh and I have been approved by the spouse to build my indoor pond in 2 years so don't worry about the giant irridescant sharks they are going to be WELL housed! They are my Spoiled babies!

anything really. bloodworms, beefheart, flakes, pellets, shrimp, etc. same stuff you would any catfish. dont those do better in groups?

he's about 2 1/2"

(sorry about the algae today was cleaning day and apparently I missed a spot lol)

ya, pictus are not picky eaters. They prefer sinking foods, like shrimp pellets, carnivore pellets, algae tabs, beefheart, anything rlly... if you want to feed them floating food do so at night, they will feel more comfortable coming to the surface.
I had 2 pictus and rehomed them to my brothers 55, where he had 1. they all get along, sometimes chase eachother away from their spots. They dont like other cats with barbels, it annoys them, but they are tolerant and wont get mean. very fast, a great community cat.

When he is smaller he will eat anything that hits the bottom, flakes, tetrabits, pellets, you name it. My five inch pictus loves algae disks. I like the Top Fin brand because they are smaller and fit right into his mouth.

My pair of cats eat any leftover sinking pellets the rest of the tank don't get to in time. My cats will actually come up off the bottom and compete with my cichlids.

My pictus cat will eat almost anything I feed to the other fish.

Anything that sinks but the staple for mine is Omega One shrimp pellets. Frozen foods, earthworms, algae wafers etc. are also included.
