What do you feed your African Tiger Pikes

What do you feed them and how? I've been trying to convert my five incher without success to shrimp and smelt. I've tried throwing it in the current but that didn't work. I've even tried tying it to a piece of string so that it will float but it was scared. What to do?

My pike eats mealworms and crickets, still working on converting to pellets and shrimp. Very stubborn fish...took a while just to get him to eat the first time..

Mine eats market prawns and chunks of frozen krill. The previous owner had weaned it using smelt and prawns.
