Hi all,

Feeding fish is one of those things that everyone does slightly different - so I am interested to know what exactly do you feed your fish (type of food, brand, etc.) and how often you feed them. It would also be worthwhile stating what type of fish you have (as Mbuna for example have a different diet to Haps and Peacocks, etc.)

Also, as a bonus question - what do you believe is the absolute ‘gold standard’ when it comes to fish food brands?

I have been feeding my (predominantly) Peacock and Hap tank Hikari Cichlid Gold (sinking pellet, pre-soaked in tank water) and live Super Worms, but I am looking to add some variety. I am thinking about adding a good quality vegetable pellet to the mix.

I do the same as james99 but I also have Tangs. All fed NLS 1mm sinking pellets since 2005 when I started keeping them. I tried Northfin and it is a good food too, but went back to NLS.

I feed Omega One, large & small grain, super color, sinking pellets. Juveniles get the Omega One mini pellets. For variety, Tetra super color flakes.
I keep Haps, Peacocks, Mbuna, various Botia Loaches & various Barbs.
All healthy, colorful & thick.

I'm the same with NLS but I use their new Probiotix formula, think that's the best food you can buy. I am growing up future breeders (Placidochromis phenochilus "Tanzania") so I feed twice a day, my other tanks only get feed once a day. They also get feed frozen mysis or brine shrimp 3 times a week.
