ive had a couple arows in the past but when i bought them they were alreday 7 inches. the new one i got is about 3.5 inches. he eats bloodworms good but not much nutrition in them what else is small enough to get him growing fast? any input would be great.

its fine, i fed my jar bloodworms until it got a little bigger, you can try cutting up shrimp to bite size, or feed him crickets and worms are good too

if you're feeding freeze-dried bloodworms.. try mixing some small floating pellets for cichlids in w/ them. he should take pretty quickly. crickets, guppies, just about any meaty food chopped up finely should work as well.

i fed mines blackworm/bloodworm until it got bigger and started feeding more varied diet

Try cut up pieces of raw shrimp, no disease and can easily be bought frozen. Also see if you can get them on pellets, it will make your life so much easier.

Mine ate pretty much anything. Blood worms, earth worms, krill, beefheart, aro sticks (pellets) Mysis shrimp, tilapia, market shrimp, and quarantined feeder goldfish.

mine ate bloodworms and floating pellets only for a little. every day i would try a piece of shrimp and eventually he ate it.
just keep trying :)

Freeze dried bloodworms are great, at 3.5" it can start eating pellets. Try mixing some broken ones in with the bloodworms. I like to use large sized cichlid gold and break it into small pieces instread of using small pellets. If you do use a smaller pellet it should be soft enough that you can breakit between your fingers.
