i'd like to know this also....i just got one hes only a little over an inch long... ive been feeding flakes to all the others in the tank but i havent noticed if he is eating them or not..........how big is your banjo cat?

i have two banjos. one is about 4 or 5 inches long and the other is about 3. the one that is 3" i raised from a baby when it was about an inch, maybe less. for the longest time they ate bloodworms, i dont understand what would make them stop. i have heard of them being so sedentary that they have been found in the wild with algae growing on them which makes me think that maybe they just didnt feel secure enough to come out and eat? idk, but one of them has got a haze over his eyes and was out in the daylight this morning... not normal, although... they do shed their skin from time to time and like snakes which do the same maybe the hazy eyes is just a sign that it is almost shedding time and im just being an overprotective parent.

I had some banjos for seven or eight years and never saw one shed it's skin... I've never even heard of fish shedding their skins...
mine ate several varieties of sinking pellets with some brine shrimp along with whatever flakes/pellet pieces made it to the bottom. tank lights had to be off, though they weren't bothered by room lights.
are you saying all you've ever fed them was bloodworms? it isn't very healthy to only feed them just one food.
