what do you feed your bichir ?

so as far as i know im heading out to grab a 12-18" ornate bichir will he eat floating pellets ? or is it better to feed sinkers to him, i have sinking stuff here but it tiny like 2-3mm... will he be ok to eat just floating pellets i normally feed everyone ? or should i grab some big sinkers, if so what size would be sufficent
 
my big polys hardly ever ate floating food. mostly massivore, tilapia and shrimp
 
i have talapia here and a little bit of shrimp, all though dont want him to get hooked on meaty food..... maybe i'll grab some massivore next pay check for him, and let him eat some talapia and small sinkers for a week or two ?
 
Mine are only 3-4 inches currently but I feed them shrimp and scallops(cut up very small) and NLS sinking food. They also get frozen blood worms.
 
hmmm, so basically if he wont come up to eat the floating food i have then i should defintly look into some sinker's..... and just feed some big peice of talpia every other day im sure he would be able to eat a entire fillet within a week lol... defintly looking into some massivore since it sinks and all
