I know this technically isn't where this thread belongs, but I feel there are more people reading the angelfish and discus threads that have experience with keeping rams than there would be in the Central/South American cichlid category.
Anyway, the first cichlids I had were Bolivian Rams, or butterfly rams, and they were my favorite fish. I just purchased some of their harder to care for German counterparts recently, since they were bulky and thriving in a tank with a higher pH at the store. The smaller male voraciously attacks flake food, almost beating my rainbowfish to the punch. The larger female (about 2") does the thing where she hesitantly puts the food in her mouth then spits it out repeatedly.
I tried freeze dried blood worms and sinking pellets, but she still doesn't keep anything down. So I just wanted to know if anyone on here, who has had experiece with these cute little creatures, could help me find a food that this species finds irresistible.
