for those few of you who keep goldfish...what food do you fed them??

i like feeding my 55g goldfish tank pond foods. since i made the switch a few months ago ive noticed the fish are much plumper, much more vibrant color, and my lionhead above all has seemed to grow much faster than when feeding standard goldfish food.

i was feeding tetra pond variety blend, and now switched to laguna color enhancing pellets. and i must say, even at a LFS im paying $12 for a 12oz. jug of laguna "premium" food. cant complain much.

Umm I unfortunatly have a Comet goldfish in my fish tank from cycleing that i am to lazy to catch. He is FAT and bright orange when i started the cycle 5weeks ago he was 1" and he is about 2" Now. I feed 3x a day my homemade food. Hikari Gold 25%/HikariStaple25%/Shrimp pellets5%/Freeze Dried shrimp5%/Flakes 25%/Romane,Zuccini,Carrots15%. And all my fish have nice color. I have heard of people giving gold fish Oranges to Clean out there bodys and show there orange.

O hear Quote "Goldfish love citrus fruit & it's good for them as it contains vitamin C. Thinly slice an orange-then cut that that slice into quarters & attach one of those to a vege clip. If you don't have one then just let it float & they will nibble at it but remove it after an hour or so. Cut the skin off beforehand.

I would only suggest feeding them this once or twice a week as treats in addition to their staple diet of flakes or pellets. Cooked broccoli, cooked, shelled peas & frozen brine shrimp & bloodworms are also good occasional treats." Found that about it

you feed them to bigger fish....naw, tetra food you by at wal marts are good.

mine absolutely seem to love any and all kinds of frozen worms. even live blackworms and nightcrawlers. kinda funny seeing a 3" goldfish slurping a 5" worms, with 1/2 of it wiggling out of its mouth :ROFL:
