Mine CK is on mainly silversides, earthworms, frozen krill... Very very rarely feeder gold fish that is just for fun to show him off every once and a while...I think mine eats gold fish maybe once or twice a year.

my ck only eats feeders as that is how they raise fish in taiwan, have seen him take one or two pellets, but not interested, my royal is the same, my bgk tho feeds almost exclusively on pellets and on the odd occasion a couple of ghost shrimp.

My CK eats frozen shrip and smelt freeze dried krill an assortment of pellets and food sticks also the occasional rosie. my BGK eats the same diet. I want to try crickets but haven't done so yet.

how do u guys get ur bgk to take pellets my will oonly take bloodworms cut up earthworms or live fish small enough for him

Crickets are a pain and hard for the knife to see at the top of the tank, I put some in my tank and they were able to find their way out and I found them jumping around my house

mine eats silversides prawns mussles earthworms and shrimp if he can be bothered to catch them

I'm still having issues with mine eating anything not living...I primarily feed my clown and royal nightcrawlers with the occational feeder. But anything dead or pellets they won't touch. It's like they sniff it and then move on. I've tried starving them for 3-4 days with no luck. I start feeling bad @ that point and give in and feed them...suggestions?

I say keep on starving and trying different foods, I once had a fire eel I purchased him and I could not get him to eat at all....I tryed everything, after about 3 weeks I was pretty much just waiting for him to die and one day my wife bought this frozen shrimp for us to have with dinner you just run under cold water to defrost and then serve cold, it was gross so I decided to throw some in my tank and my eel LOVED it...It was the only thing he would eat till the day he died!!

Having worried about the dangers of disease from feeders, I finally made my poor clownkinfe eat only carnivore tablets and his favorite algae wafers. I suppose this is cruel, but he seems very happy and is now a whopping 14 inches long, so I'm not too bothered. I tried the beefheart, but he turned up his nose at that, if I put feeders in the tank, they are gone in seconds though!

I hear you on the feeders. I have a royal knife, a clown knife, and a rtcXtsn in the same tank. I could drop 20-30 feeders in @ a time (if I wanted to) and they'd all be gone within a minute or two. The catfish will eat different things @ this point, but the knives are still being difficult. I'll keep plugging away @ it and hope they finally decide to go to pellets and frozen foods. thanks.
