what do you feed your paretroplus menarambo?

I looked online but found very like information about their diet. It was noted that they enjoy snails in the wild. I have been feeding my mine regular cichlid pellets and flakes from ken's food. I purchased at least ten different types of fish food from Ken but they will only eat the flakes and little pellets. I want to know what else i can feed them......

When I had mine the staple was hikari cichlid gold. They also ate market shrimp, earth worms and of course as many snails as I could give them.

Yeah....they readily accept shrimp. I am just trying to get it to pellets or flakes. I have tried the hikari cichlid gold a while back with no luck. They rather eat things that sink....then floating. Snails.......i am trying to find more informations about breeding them since there are very few places that actually sell them.
