Out of curiousity, what do you feed your sharks? How often and what supplements as well. Include how big the sharks are and what species.

12" grey smoothhound - LOVES krill and fresh squid. Not a huge fan of silversides.

Shark diet will vary greatly with species.

A lot of carpet sharks eat inverts, so I give them inverts.
Those that are fish eaters get fish.

Mixed diets work well. Never offer just one single type of food to any shark. It will lead to health issues down the line.

As for how often, it will vary with species, water temp and age of the animals. My warm water pups will get fed twice a day. Large body adults, 3 times a week. Cold water sharks don't need to calorie intake, so just a few times a week for them as well.

And whatever you do, PLEASE don't feed goldfish. :)

were trying to feed freeze dried krill as we were giving our banded some awesome squid but ran out and she just wont take anything else. I figured she would eat eventually we just havnt had a whole lot of luck. We tried silversides, frozen squid chunks that did a great job at spiking my nitrates, and other "Frozen" formulas.. shoot we even tried people grade octopus and squid from the grocery store (talk about a fortune) that literally just got thrown out. Were going to try a Japanese market pretty soon here if we can find one.. a few LFS have told us that they might have something for the shark.. we'll see

The blacktips were getting either herring or mackerel depending on what we had. They each got 2 fish 3 times per week with one of the 2 fish per shark having a vitamin in it.
