it is koi food, but seems it would be ideal for my silver (note the 44% protein level)

That food should be OK so long as other foods are offered to round out the diet. For the same cost per pound, you can get arowana sticks that are formulated to fit an aro's daily needs. And, the sticks can be found cheaper at several other places. I pay $10 - $13 for the 1.5lb bottle on ebay and aquaticeco.com.:
