I've got (3) 2" NGT's you think they would survive with a 4.5" ornate bichir??? I worried. Those NGT's are my newest fishes. cant put the bichir with my larger dats. he'd be killed.

I agree..the dats are way too small for the ornate too ignore especially when it gets hungry, my 2" malawi peacock as gobbled up by my 7" endli, your bichir might end up doing the same...

I think you'd be ok - a 4.5 inch ornate is pretty tiny and the Dats are deep bodied.

But I don't think it's worth the risk when you take into account how expensive NGTs are compared to Ornate Bichirs. I'd be growing those NGTs out with utmost care!

The mouth on an 4.5 inch bicher is still pretty small. I think as long as there are higher up hiding places above the tank floor, that the bicher wouldnt bother them. If you choose to do it, keep that ornate full of food.
